for 4 years and feels called into this leadership role.
Many
other returning junior and senior counselors will continue
the continuity of our longstanding
reputation of safety, Christian
education and fun.
Miss
Emily – Camp Cook
Emily Bundick prepares meals for our campers. “Miss
Emily” has been serving meals for summer camp for 23 years.
She is known throughout the Eastern Shore for her home cooking
including homemade yeast rolls and cinnamon buns.
Health
and Safety Staff
Healthcare Supervisors are available each week of summer camp
to assist in keeping our campers and staff healthy and
safe. As a parent/guardian you are the greatest source of information
about your child’s health, therefore at
registration, OOTB needs your assistance in the completion
of health forms and the management of medications.
Staff Credentials
It is important for you to know that each staff member completed
an application, had four individual personal references including parent/guardian, Minister/Sunday
School teacher, employer/teacher and character reference. In
addition, each staff member successfully interviewed, passed
a state police background check and was selected by the Leadership
Team.
Staff Training
Summer camp staff receive intense and comprehensive training
including but not limited to: safety/accident prevention, first aid/emergency procedures,
cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and methods and content
of our educational goals
and camp activities.
Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Opportunity
If you have a youth at least 15 years old, who is an experienced
camper, loves camp and wants to learn Christian leadership
skills consider our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program. Each
CIT must enlist for at least 4 weeks of camping sessions This
is great preparation for a possible future as a paid summer
camp counselor. The $90.00 per week fee for CIT covers meals
and food services costs.
Volunteers
OOTB offers many opportunities for individuals and groups to
give of your time, talents and gifts.
The
Camp always has a running list of needed projects from the
very simple to the complex. Some ideas include: leaf raking,
trail clearing, painting, minor repairs, electrical installations,
waterfront cleaning, and much more.
Summer
camp volunteer opportunities include Registered Nurses for
staffing the First Aid Station and Laity or Clergy for ministering
to our staff and campers.
