Resident Summer Camp Counselor (2010)

Benefits & Salary:
Provisions: Room and board, salary commensuate with experience, meals and supplies for duration of contract (excludes personal items).

Salaries:
Senior Counselor: $1200 plus $100 for current Lifeguard Certification plus $100 for current Wilderness First Aid and $100 for tenure.
Junior Counselor: $700 plus $100 for Lifeguard Certification plus $100 for current Wilderness First Aid and $100 for tenure.

Employment begins 6:00 PM June 13, 2010 and ends 3:00 PM August 7, 2010.
Employee must remain on site from Sunday, 2:00 PM until Friday 8:00 PM of each camp session.

Minimum Qualifications:

Desire and ability to work with children outdoors. Ability to accept supervision and guidance. Desire to serve God in Christian Education. Good character, integrity and adaptability. Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control. Ability to swim.

Senior Counselor - 18 years and older
Junior Counselor - 16 and 17 year olds
Counselor-in-training - 15 years old

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Opportunity
If you have a youth at least 15 years old, who is an experienced camper, loves camp and wants to learn Christian leadership skills consider our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program. Each CIT must enlist for at least 4 weeks of camping sessions. This training is available through camp. This is great preparation for a possible future as a paid summer camp counselor. CITs pay a $100 per week food/food service cost.

1. Deadline to submit applications is postmark by March 5, 2010 - no exceptions!
2. Each form will open on screen. You can fill out forms on the screen, but remember to save to your computer to a location where you will be able to find them later. Or you can save each form and then work from your computer at your convenience.
3. Read the Cover Letter from the Camp Director and Group Dynamics Weekend Letter from the Camp Coordinator.
4. Read the Job Description. If you understand and agree to the duties and responsibilities, type in your name and date and save the form. If you are under 18, your parent/guardian must enter their name and date. The camp will verify parent/guardian.
5. Complete the counselor application form. Make sure to save your application to your computer.
6. Forward the Reference Form to your references or give them the camp website address so they can download the form.
7. Follow additional instructions on each form.
8. Email or print and mail, the Application and Job Description Forms by March 6, 2009. If emailing the forms, the camp will verify receipt. (Contact information)
9. Make sure your references send their forms to the Camp.
10. If you have questions, contact the Director.

Interviews will be part of the team building experience during GROUP DYNAMICS WEEKEND, March 5-7, 2010. More information will be sent to you once we receive ALL of your completed paperwork. I will be recruiting from a number of colleges and universities so I encourage you to return your information as soon as possible as the number of positions is limited this year.
