Summer Camp Curriculum

2008 Handle With Care

The curriculum entitled Handle With Care, is biblically grounded; theologically informed; experientially based; and culturally aware; environmentally responsible; developmentally appropriate; and inclusive of all people. THe curriculum was developed by the Committee on Outdoor Ministries of the National Council on Churches.

Through daily activities, Discoveries will focus on different aspects of the campers spiritual journey. Campers will focus on their roles as stewards of our environment, as described below:

Discovery 1 - It's About Relationships/Sustainability Genesis 2:4b-23
Discovery 2 - It's All About Good/Web of Life Genesis 1:1-25
Discovery 3 - It's a Matter of Choice/Conservation Genesis 6:11-9:17
Discovery 4 - I'ts About Trust/Simplicity Luke 12:13-32
Discovery 5 - It's What We Do/Stewardship Matthew 25:14-30
Discovery 6 - It's Good News/Eco-Justice Mark 16:9-20

Campers will continue to enjoy traditional age appropriate camp activities listed in each camp description.
